About Us
The Outdoor Flower & Foliage Growers' Association (OFFGA) is a group of flower growers who get together to network and share ideas and experiences. We believe that sharing knowledge with each other not only helps us as individual growers but the flower industry as a whole .
OFFGA has members in Auckland, Waikato, Taranaki, Gisbourne, Whakatane and Tauranga who get to together 3-5 times a year for field trips, workshops and social events.
Most of our members grow outdoors or under shade but we welcome growers of all flowers and foilage in OFFGA.
OFFGA has a proud history in the cut flower industry in New Zealand. The association was formed in 1983 as the NZ Protea Growers' Association (NZPGA). As the industry developed and crop focus changed, growers were branching out to a wider range of crops and in 2002 the name of the association was changed to the New Zealand Protea and Foilage Growers' Association (NZPFGA). By 2016 the industry had changed considerably since the founding of the NZPGA and with Proteaceae taking a lesser roll in the current industry it was decided to once more change the name to Outdoor Flower & Foliage Growers' Association to incorporate varieties of outdoor flower and foliage crops .
