At the beginning of September
OFFGA ran a viburnum opulus training day which was hosted by Vania Riddington from Eastoveden gardens .
Around 15 people attended the morning session and was well received by the growers involved .

Vania gave a grading demonstration explaining grades, quality, packing and post harvest treatments used at Eastoveden.
This led to a question and answer session which growers shared and discussed their experiences with Viburnum Opulus.
Following this talk the group took a walk around Eastoveden
where they were shown how Eastoveden spread their crop flowering over a 6 week period. Also discussed was pruning, stem die back, leaf virus and crop spraying.
With many new growers in attendance it was a well timed workshop pre-viburnum season, which as many of us know can be a very full on crop once it starts .
